It's the other way around. He started up EOG within about a year-and-a-half of selling this place. Was long friends with the new owners, hence their not including a non-compete clause.
He was banned for using this place as a platform to keep his name in people's heads, as there was to be a three-month lag between his resignation here and EOG's opening. (Remember the Royal/David circus? From the 'no such thing as bad publicity' school of marketing.) Perfectly sound decision by the ownership here.
When you are the CEO of Coke, and your top sales guy says he's going to Pepsi, you don't let him keep visiting your customers. That's just sound business logic.

I was pretty pissed off when I read this last night.
Even though we may be missing out on some traffic, we try hard to stay away from flame wars with other forums. However, when somebody tries to disparage a friend and coworker, I have to say something. First of all, I have known Xpanda for some time, and she is one of the most upfront, honest and genuine people I know. I have been in this industry for a long time, and I have never heard anybody say anything negative about her – well until now.
X does not need me to come in and explain the situation for her. But I just happened to be one of the few that were unfortunately caught up in circus that they created when EOG was started. I don’t want to go into all of the details, so I will just say that I was at Don Best at the time and was completely mislead as to what kind of site they were building. I bring this up because X has been accused of being the one who conceived the idea of creating another site and then convinced them to open it. This is simply not true. The people behind that site had already decided to leave theRX and start the site when they contacted X to help them get up and running. In fact I was told that they needed her so they could get incorporated in Canada. She was there for just a short time before deciding that she did not like the direction of the company.
They were not happy to hear that X had issues with the way they were doing things, and I would not consider their split amicable. After her resignation, she attempted to tie up all loose ends and ask that her name be removed from everything and that she be reimbursed for her final expenses. Neither was done, so after all this time she decided to take into to her own hands and close the reaming accounts and collect her reimbursement. The thing that they failed to mention is that the amount she collected was still not enough to cover her final expenses.
I hope this will help put an end to these ridiculous claims being made against Xpanda. Anybody who knows her would agree that she does not deserve to have her reputation questioned.

The bottom line was that it was apparent to me that EOG was not happy to see Xpanda come here to The Rx. and bad mouthed her pretty badly to me when I hired her (since then she has been hired by upper management from moderator to comunications director and now works for Rick Allec). Xpanda voluntered to stay on as a part time moderator in addition to her other duties and has been a big help in many areas to all of the full time mods.
Xpanda has gotten along fine with the entire staff here at The Rx. and there have been zero confrontations or problems like those mentioned at EOG.
Regarding any funds that were paid to Xpanda by EOG I am certain they were either earned salary or paid expenses. Working on these forums many key personell accrue expenses that are paid monthy or quarterly and as a rule once the total is submitted to management it is the same as an invoice that should be paid immediately. Waiting for months for an expense check is unheard of here at The Rx., waiting two days is unheard of.
This situation is really sad when apparently decent people make publically unsubsantiated allegations against an honest person like Xpanda. I am very dissapointed in that kind of vindictive behaviour especially coming from someone who claims he has changed his life. I have kept my mouth shut about the entire matter of the Rx. changing hands two years ago but believe me some very shady back room dealings that went on at the time, all I can say is that they were some very underhanded activities involved and to coin an old phrase "people in glass houses should not throw stones".
I have complete confidence that Xpanda will vindicate herself from what is an unexplainable breach of eitiquette and downright nasty accusations made with only one objective in mind. I think you can all figure what that objective is, I know all of the the veteran posters can.
Lets see how this plays out, but don't expect to see any of this continued forum 'he said she said" drama on our main forum.
BTW. The thread that started this whole fiasco at EOG (A-Train banned at Rx.) is settled. A-Train is not banned and continues to post here at The Rx.
